Black Desert Online: King Griffon Knowledge

King Griffon knowledge is one of the hardest to get in the game. (I don’t know why) There is an easy way though!  There are two quests that require you to have King Griffon knowledge.  Those quests are: Revivify Knowledge & Co-Op Head of an Eagle, Body of a lion. Pro tip: Do these quests at the same time.  You can get them from an NPC in the middle pond area of Navarn Steppe. (See Map Below) In order to finish Revivify Knowledge quest, you have to obtain all the ecology knowledge in Steppe.  Press H (for Knowledge menu) Go to Ecology, Ecology of Kamasylvia and then the first one on top, Steppe of Kamasylvia.  You have to discover everything under Steppe.  Even if you have collected energy from Steppe ecology knowledge – in order, to finish the Revivify quest, nothing can be a ???.

Pro Tip:

Obtain all the knowledge under Steppe of Kamasylvia, leaving King Griffon for last. Once, you have everything but King Griffon, go to Milden. (He is located in the middle pond area) Milden will sell you King Griffon knowledge for 10 energy but only after you have the knowledge of everything else.

Black Desert Online: Quest help -Hunting-loving hunter

This is one of the quests you might get when you first start and as a beginner it can be a bit tricky.

The quest is called “Hunting-Loving Hunter.” The first part of the quest is easy, you just go to the Inn in Veila and talk to the people at the first table near the cook.

The 2nd part, you will have to find Chuck Laurie in the mountains.  There is no auto path to him and he is not high-lighted on the map.

Here is a map to show you where he is.  He is right below Olvia. Where the little question mark is.

Covet Fashion: Challenge Guidance Tip

Covet Fashion: Challenge Tip

Some of the challenges provide additional clues other than the picture and description.  You will see a bar, close to the top, highlighted in pink. (See picture)  Click the bar.  This will open up a new pop-up window showing clothing items that are geared towards the theme.  These items are not required.  Some of those items might already be in your closet or you can buy them.  Whether you buy them or not, it’s a good guide to tell where the theme is going and how other players are going to be dressing their character.

Props

Some challenges also will have a little box in the corner that resembles a wand.  This is the prop options.  The challenge will allow you to use props in three different areas of the picture. Covet does not have a huge prop collection but props are free so if it fits the theme go for it.

Black Desert Online: Noob killing fields

Total hot bed areas for noob killing spree:

I have not been a BDO noob for a very long time but it never fails, whenever I try to level up a new character these are the areas, I get viciously slaughtered down by other players the most.

Areas:

Hexe Sanctuary

Witch’s Chapel

Rhutum Outstation

Rhutum Sentry Post

Mansha Forest

Catfishman’s Camp

Why?

You may wonder why so much killing and bloodshed happens in these areas.  It’s because these are the areas that a character will hit that 50 level mark. So to all the gaming psychopath’s out there, it makes you easy pickings.

PVP is allowed after level 50 and above. Most players when they hit the level 50 mark, they are still not strong enough to fight off other players. Many predatory assholes will lay and wait for those noobs to wander through there.  My guess is the reasons why are as follows: 1. They want to lose Karma. Some people enjoy the bad guy aspects of this game. 2. They find it entertaining. 3. They think it will add clout with their other guild-ies and friends.  4. The noob has invaded their grinding spot. 5. They are mentally unstable.

Story time:

One time, I was at Hexe Sanctuary trying to defeat 2 million skeletons on my way to leveling up to 56 when I met a young wizard.  He stopped me in the middle of my bloodlust frenzy killing and started to chat.  He said to me “How are you today?” Before I could even press enter to type my reply, he had hit me over the head several times with his wizard staff.  I was dead on the spot.  He zipped out of there like a bitch.  I just sat there confused and wondered what the fuck just happened to me.  All I knew was that nice polite wizard was a piece of shit and it shook me to the core. I learned a valuable lesson that day.  I would never stop to have idle polite chit chat with somebody in combat areas and wizards are dead to me.

Pro Tips:

If you do have somebody hovering around or bothering you in combat areas, here is what you can do:

1.        Let them just kill you.  (I don’t recommend this because you will lose combat experience)

2.       Run away  (I do this fairly often because I worked hard on leveling up and don’t need to lose combat experience)

3.       Switch servers.  (You can switch servers every 15 minutes.)

4.       Try to kill them.  (Why not, give it a go…you might lose though)

5.       Message them and beg them to be your friend.  (I tried this once and was rejected)

6.       Report them to BDO for being bastards.  (Good luck with this..BDO will not help)

7.       Turn PVP off.  (I keep my PVP off but have still been killed)

Covet Fashion: Enable Rally

How to enable rallies:

You must belong to a Fashion House first.

Click on “Runaway Rally” at the top.

Scroll down and you will see “Rally Participation” with a toggle switch.

Toggle this on if you want to participate, toggle off if you do not.

Head of House or Officers have to start the rally but you have to enable it before one starts.

If you enable it after the rally has started; you will not be included until the next rally.

Covet Fashion: Tips for beginners

Tips for beginners:

Daily:  Every day, Covet rewards you with 100 diamonds and 20 tickets.

Enter daily challenge.:

This is the best challenge to enter everyday because there is no restrictions and you earn $500 covet cash just for entering.

I like this one because I can put on any unworn outfit and enter.  I don’t ever expect a high score with this one since I’m using whatever outfit I have but eventually that daily 500 cash adds up!

Flashback Challenges:

If you are a beginner and low on funds, do not enter the flash back challenges.  These challenges can be really expensive!

The flashback challenges require several pieces from previous seasons and if you do not have those items, you will have to buy them.

Jet Set Challenges:

You can do the jet set challenges as many times as you want.

You do not earn prizes with these challenges but you do earn stars.  Stars will help you unlock other jet set levels and you can earn 500 diamonds.

Jet Set Challenges usually only last 8 hours and voting begins.  So you find out results pretty quick. These challenges are also easy to win.

Series Challenges:

If you have the funds to spend, do the series challenges.  These are like 5 to 8 challenges.

If you do all of them, the prizes are really good and this is only for entering them all!

The only thing that really sucks as a beginner, you usually have to buy 2 to 4 pieces per challenge.

Borrow:

You can borrow items from Facebook friends and if you are in a fashion house – you can borrow them too.

You can only borrow 1 item per challenge.

Style:

Pairing the right hair and makeup can bring up the score of your look when it comes to voters.

Eventually, in higher levels, details are going to be very important. (Jewelry, handbags, etc.)

I noticed short hair and albino skin do not do well in voting.  Voters tend to like long hair and tanned/darker skin tones. (Just my opinion though)

You can view the top looks on the front page and that will give you a good idea on how people vote.  I noticed a lot of voters have shit taste too.  I don’t know why.

Diamonds:

If you are going to buy diamonds, wait until Covet Fashion has a sale.  They have a lot of sales!

Challenge Themes:

All the challenges have some sort of theme going on.  Pay attention to the picture and the description of the theme.

Many voters will not vote for your look if it resembles nothing to the theme.

Funds:

Save your funds and only buy what you need for a challenge.  Items cost an arm and a leg and you will run out of money very quickly.

When you do have to buy something, keep in mind that you might need that outfit in another challenge.  Pick items that can be paired with other things.

Likes:

Likes do nothing to help you.  It just shows that somebody thought your outfit was cool.  It does not help with voting.

Unworn & Season:

Max your unworn & season bonus if you can.  This can put a 3.5 score outfit over 4.0 which will land you a prize.

Edit:

You can edit an outfit up until it’s closed out for voting.   This is handy if you don’t have the covet cash to buy something.  Enter the challenge anyway, get the entry reward and then edit the outfit and buy the item you need with it.

Tucking in Shirts:

There is a tuck button that will tuck in a shirt.  This will give your outfit an entirely different look and is helpful if a lot of people are going to be wearing the same look and you want to set yourself apart.

Models:

You can switch from classic to modern models as many times as you want.  If you entered a challenge with one type of model, you have to stay with the model until the challenge is over.

Pro Tip:

Do not try to enter every challenge.  This game can be addicting and you can end up paying a lot of real money to play it.  Start with the Jet Set & Daily Challenges. Save your diamonds and $500 covet cash for a few days and then enter another challenge.  Pacing yourself is key.

Covet Fashion: How to change your name.

How to change your stylist name:

Under your profile at the top, there is a little pencil / pen icon

Click the icon and a new box will pop up

This will give you the option to change your name.

Type in your new name and hit submit.

BDO: Quest Tip – Count the arrows

I am trying to level up another character to 60 so I’m doing a lot of quests lately. There is one over by Outpost Supply Port that is particularly annoying and difficult. The quest is called “Count the arrows.” You will need to count all the arrows in several boxes.  It is completely random and not to mention almost impossible to count all the arrows but apparently somebody on the internet has done it.  (Not me though)  I searched google to find the answer – so here is what you need to do if you have this quest.

Open chat window: Type in 922.

Hit enter. Quest is completed.
